Bharia Tribe is a scheduled tribe settled in the Patalkot region of
Chhindwara District,
Madhya Pradesh. They are also known by different names such as Bhumia, Bhuinhar, Paliha and Pando.
Bharias speak a typical language known as 'Bharia'. Normally they live in a deep depression (bowl) surrounded on all sides by vertical mountains called 'Kanats'.
Farming is the traditional occupation of the people. Small millet called Kodo-Kutki is mostly produced. Other areas of activities include forest wealth collection and hunting.
