Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College lies in Dhankawadi Educational Campus on Pune-Satara Road in
Pune. It was established in 1989 with the aim of providing medical education. Recognized by the Medical Council of India, this college has its name in the World Health Organization's directory.
Graduate (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), post graduate (Master of Surgery and Doctrine of Medicine), post graduate diploma and super specialty courses are offered. Admission for all courses other than DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) and MSc (Master of Science) is through All India Common Entrance Test.
Well-equipped laboratories, demonstration rooms, library building and auditorium for cultural and educational programs are all inside the campus. The students passing out from this institute are eligible to write USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) and PLAB (Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board) examinations.
Attached to the medical college is a 700 bedded hospital, where clinical training is offered. This fully equipped hospital is a multi-storeyed building with seven operation theaters, a blood bank and intensive care units. Accommodation for post graduate students and interns is in this hospital building.
The college has a Rural Health Center at Khanapur, 30 km from Pune city.
