Manduk Bhairon



Bhairon-ki-Jharia is a massive 18-armed image of Kal Bhairav, the fearsome aspect of Lord Shiva. It is situated in a niche, close to Neelkanth Temple, by the rock-cut Swargarohana pool of Kalinjar fort in Banda District of Uttar Pradesh. This colossal and magnificent figure of Bhairav carved on the rock face is 17 ft broad and 24 ft high and is ornamented with a garland of skulls. Bhairon-ki-Jharia, more popularly known as Manduk Bhairav, is believed to have been built during the reign of the Chandela ruler, Parmardi Dev.
