Situated in Yana, Bhairaveshwara Temple is a small cave temple dedicated to Lord
Shiva, in the form of a naturally formed shivling is worshipped here. Throughout the year water drips from the projecting rocks over the idol and nobody knows the origin of this waterfall. It also has a bronze icon of Chandika, an incarnation of Goddess
Durga. A fair is held here during
Shivratri.
This shrine of Bhairaveshwara is situated below tall rocky cliffs, which provide a spectacular view. Yana is 25 km from
Kumta, a small coastal town and 40 km from
Sirsi, a commercial center. The
Kumta railway station of
Konkan Railways is the nearest railhead.
