Bhairavakonda is a historical site, located about 150 km from
Ongole, in
Prakasam District of
Andhra Pradesh. Kanigiri is 65 km away.
The prime attractions are several rock cut Hindu temples which are dedicated to Lord Shiva and other Hindu deities. Most of them date back to 7th-8th century. Noteworthy of the temples is the shrine of eight-faced Durga Bhairavaswamy in the midst of dense forest. A waterfall that plummets from height of 60 m adds to the beauty of the locale. Further, Bhairavakonda is noted for its exquisite monuments resembling Pallava style architecture.
