Bhai Randhir Singh (1878-1961), the Pioneer of the Gurdwara Reform Movement, was born on July 7th 1878, in
Ludhiana District of
Punjab. He completed his schooling in
Nabha and higher education from Government and Foreman Christian Colleges at Lahore.
Bhai Randhir Singh had written various books on Sikh theology, philosophy, and the true Sikh way of life. He was the founder of the Akhand Kirtani Jatha in India. He was charged in 1914 with waging war against the British Crown and had to under go life-imprisonment from 1914 to 1931.
In recognition of his sacrifices and devotion to the Sikh Faith, Bhai Randhir Singh was given the Hukamnamas and Robes of Honour by the four Takhats of the Panth - a rare honor.
