Bhai Fauja Singh, an extraordinary Sikh hero, was born on May 1936 in
Gurdaspur District of
Punjab.
From his childhood itself, he used to spend his time with Sants and Sadhs. He always fought against the un-righteousness and led a truthful life. According to him, to be a religious person, one has to be honest and should live by the Will of God. Bhai Fauja Singh was also a good Gatka player.
On the day of Vaisakhi 13th April 1978, he along with 125 Singhs, protested against the Nirankari procession and Nakali Nirankari Gurbachan Singh's insults against the Gurus. On the same day was killed by the Nakali Nirankari army.
