Bhadra Purnima Fair




Bhadra Poornima Fair is one of the four most important festivals in Ambaji of Gujarat. It is celebrated on full moon days. On every Poornima or the fifteenth day of each month as per the Vikram Samvat year of the Indian calendar, there is a wonderful religious fair Lok Melo. A large number of believers come to the temple of Ambaji to worship. On the full moon day of the months of Ashvin, Kartik, Chaitra and Bhadrapa, a big fair is organized, agriculturists go to the temple with members of the general public. Performances of Bhavai are held in the evening, and Garba programs are organized.

The reading of the Saptashati, the seven hundred verses in praise of the goddess, is attended by the devotees, and they visit the temple to get Goddess Ambaji’s blessing. From far areas people come here as groups, called padayatri sangh, to take part in this fair.
