Bhaaskara Gurukulam Camp is a summer training camp in performing arts, organized at Bhaaskara - the institute for arts at
Payyanur in
Kerala. Started in 2000, the camp aims at the upliftment of dance forms like
Bharatanatyam and
Kathakali, which is otherwise practiced by youngsters only for the sake of dance competitions.
During the camp, the campers get the opportunities to interact with various renowned personalities from different parts of the country. Both foreigners and natives take part in the camp. A range of programs such as painting exhibitions, craft work shops and live performances by eminent artists fills the leisure time.
