Belgaum Military School is located at
Belgaum,
Karnataka. It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education,
New Delhi. Boys are given training for the Entrance Examination of the National Defense Academy. They are also prepared for Army Special Certificate Examination, Secondary School Examination, and Senior School Certificate Examination.
The school was established on December 30, 1945. It was formerly known as ‘King George VI Royal Indian Military College’ and later as ‘King George’s Military College’ and ‘King George’s School’. On February 1, 1966, the name ‘Military School’ was adopted.
Special training for sports and games activities such as football, hockey, boxing, table tennis, cross country race, cricket, swimming, basket-ball, chess, and volleyball are also provided. Various extra-curricular activities including debates, dramatics, essay writing, and extempore speeches in both English and Hindi are also carried out.
