Baul mela is an annual festival celebrated mainly in
Bolpur and neighboring areas. It commences on the last day of Poush in mid-January after the end of
Ganga Sagar Mela. Hindu Vaishnavs and Sufi Muslim Bauls from Bengal and Bangladesh gather here to sing devotional songs for three nights.
