Basdhara is just 3 km north of Gharaunda, in Karnal District of Haryana. The district headquarters, Karnal, is 10 km north while Munak is 7 km south-west. The historical town of Panipat is around 25 km south.

Nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport. Gharaunda Railway Station, on the New Delhi - Ambala line, is the nearest railhead. National Highway 1 passes through Basdhara.
