Positioned at the top of a low hill, Bari Mahal is easily accessible from the
Udaipur City Railway Station, about 4 km from the city center. The palace has a beautiful garden. There is a square water tank located in the center of the garden. Bari Mahal, popularly known as Amar Vilas, has cusped arches with wide eaves and is built above the ground to protect it from the heavy rains. It was earlier used as a playground for the royal families. A government museum is located nearby.
