Barahiya is located in
Lakhisarai District of
Bihar. It is around 15 km north-west of
Lakhisarai. Barahiya is also spelled as Brhiya and Barahia.
Located along the banks of Uttar Vahini Ganga (north flowing Ganges), Barahiya is considered to be a holy place. People from far and near come to take a holy dip in this river. Hindus believe that cremation on the banks of this river will bring moksha to the deceased.
