Banjar is located in
Kullu District of
Himachal Pradesh and is 58 km south-east of Kullu town. It is 1,524 m above the sea level, and is noted for its commanding scenery.
A wildlife sanctuary with rare species of inhabitants forms the prime attraction. The age-old temples and historical buildings are the other landmarks.
The place provides excellent opportunities for trout fishing in the
Tirthan River.
The nearest airport is at Kullu and railhead is at Pathankot.
