The Bangri tribe is located mainly in the states of
Haryana,
Karnataka,
Himachal Pradesh,
Uttar Pradesh,
Punjab and
Delhi. A majority of Bangris have settled down in Haryana. The language they speak is Bangaru, a member of the Indo-Aryan language family. The raising of livestock, particularly horned cattle, buffalo, horses, and mules is a central feature of their economy. Agriculture is also one of their occupations.
The Bangri are mostly Hindus following the basic Hindu customs and traditions although there are a few practicing Christians and Muslims. The Bangri do not have the Bible or Christian radio broadcasts available in their language. The Bangri Hindus believe in reincarnation, a continuous cycle of death and rebirth.
