An important harvest festival in
Orissa, Bandapana Parab is held in the month of
Shravan (July-August). It is mainly attached to the
Paraja and
Gadaba tribes, who celebrate this festival with most care, sincerity, devotion and fear.
The festival is made alive with folk songs, dances and devotional music. People decorate all their agricultural implements on this occasion. A variety of sweets are prepared in every house.
