Banafsha is a wild plant seen throughout the mountains of
Rajouri District. It is common in Kakora, Ghambir, Gurdhan Balla, Fatehpur, Palma, Dhangri, Dhanwan, and Rachwa villages.
The white flowers (purple shade) are considered to be the ornaments of mountains of Rajouri. Banafsha also possesses medicinal properties.
