Ban Ganga Temple




Ban Ganga Temple is located about 3 km from Katra town in Jammu District. According to Hindu legend, the place got this name because Goddess Vaishno Devi washed her hair at this spot. Devotees believe that the Ban Ganga River, flowing through the region, was originated when the goddess shot an arrow into the stone. Pilgrims usually take a bath in the river en route the pilgrimage center Bhawan. Positioned at a height of 2700 ft, the temple is visited by thousands of devotees per year.

Jammu Satwari Airport is located about 50 km from here.
