Balika Nilayam, an institute for child welfare, is situated in the Vijaynagar Colony in
Hyderabad in
Andhra Pradesh. It was established as a rehabilitation unit for girls in 1958. Balika Nilayam provides an encouraging atmosphere and education facilities for destitute girl children. The center is registered under the Andhra Pradesh Telangana Public Societies Registration Act of 1350 and run by a managing committee made up of honorary members. It also has a rehabilitation unit, adoption unit, vocational training center and working women's hostel.
