Sundernagar Valley



Balh Valley, also known as Sundernagar Valley, is a broad vale perched at an elevation of 800 meters above the sea level, in Mandi District. It is situated between an off shoot of the Shimla Ridge and Shivalik hills in the south.

The Balh valley extends from Gutker in the north to Sundernagar in the south and Baggi in the east and Gumma in the west. The Suketi stream, which traverses the valley, divides it roughly into two. Wheat, maize, sugarcane, ginger and paddy are largely cultivated here. Other activities include mixed farming, dairy farming, animal husbandry and horticulture.
