Balgaon is a small village near the eastern border of Sangli District. One would come across this hamlet while traveling from Karajgi to Umdi. It is situated 18 km south-east of Bobalad and 10 km from Umdi. Bijapur, the headquarters of the neighboring Bijapur District, is 40 km south of Balgaon.
