Bala Gurukulam Orphanage is on the banks of Red Hills Lake at Murugambedu village in

Chennai. It offers residential, medical and educational services to the abandoned and deprived children in the community.
Yoga and meditation classes are conducted. The orphanage conducts economic development programs, meetings, seminars and awareness camps. Also, village women are trained in making handmade paper bags, screen printing and cattle rearing. Contributions in the form of donations, food, clothes and books are accepted.
