Bagalkot Jain Temples




There are two Jain temples located in Bagalkot, the district headquarters of Bagalkot District. Both these temples are dedicated to Bhagwan Parshwanath.

The temple belonging to the Digambar sect, was built in 10th century and enshrines a 3 ft tall idol of Parshwanath in Kayotsarga posture. Idols of Bhagwan Adinath and Bahubali, and a Chakra with images of nine dev- Arihant, Sidhha, Acharaya, Upadhyaya, sadhu, Jindevta, Jinvani, Jindharama and Jinmandir - are found in the temple.

The Jain temple, belonging to the Shwetambar sect, is on the Belguam Road.
