Baba Ramdas Bairagi, often revered as the founder of the Ramdasi Gharana, a resident of
Gwalior, was a musician in the courts of the Mughal Emperors,
Akbar and Jahangir. He had a deep knowledge in the various aspects of music. Baba Ramdas is credited with the creation of several classical ragas such as Ramdasi Malhar, Ramdasi Sarang, Ramkali, Ramkaunsi and Ram Kalyan.
