Baba Dhansar is in a beautiful picnic spot, situated just 10 km from
Katra and about 65 km from
Jammu, in
Jammu and Kashmir. Major point of attraction is the huge spring which gushes out of mountainside in a thick grove of trees and forms a number of small waterfalls before flowing in to
Banganga River. Situated next to the spring in a small grove in the rock face is a naturally formed
Shivling. Most noteworthy feature is that droplets of water fall naturally on the Shivling all year round.
The annual fair held during Shivratri is a major draw. Thousands of devotees from far and near visit here on this auspicious occasion.
