B J Medical College

B J Medical College, one of the largest sources of medical manpower in the country, was started in 1871 as the Ahmedabad Medical School with 14 students. The courses offered are Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD). The college is attached to Civil Hospital, M and J Institute of Ophthalmology, Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research, Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, Shri U N Metha Institute of Cardiology, Institute of Paraplegia, and T B Demonstration of Training Centre. The campus holds Govt. Dental College and Hospital, College of Nursing, Regional Family Planning Centre, College of Physiotherapy and voluntary Blood Bank. Hostel and library facilities are available.
