This is a 13th century temple that enshrines Balasubramanya - the youthful form of Skanda / Lord
Muruga, seated on a peacock. It is believed that the temple was constructed at the spot from where the image was unearthed.
The image of Balasubramanya has been installed under five trees, amidst five Gods - Ganesh, Shiva,
Parvati, Vishnu and
Surya. Worship services carried out here resemble that of Kerala.
Skanda Shashti is the major festival celebrated in the temple.
