Avittathur

Avittathur is a village near Irinjalakuda, Thrissur District of Kerala, around 45 km from Irinjalakuda. This small village is famous for the Avittathur Shiva Temple, a 1000-year-old shrine, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Thidampu Ezhunnallathu, which is conducted on the ninth day of the annual festival, attracts thousands of devotees. Some of the nearby places of worship include Koodalmanikyam Temple, Trikakkara Vamanamurthy Temple, St Thomas Cathedral and Viswanathapuram Temple.
