Attigiri Perumal Koil




Attigiri Perumal Koil is a renowned shrine situated in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. The temple enshrines Sree Varadaraja Perumal and Sree Perundevi Thayar are the principal deities. The deity is seen installed in a standing position facing west.

The original idol of Sree Atthi Varadar of this temple was made from ‘Atthimaram’ (Atthi Wood). The idol is preserved inside the temple and is brought out for once in 40 years. During this time the idol is kept for darshan for 10 days.

Attigiri Perumal Koil is just a kilometer from Kanchipuram Railway Station. By road, the temple is about 90 km from Chennai on the Chengalpattu-Arakkonam route.
