Athiyankad Bhagavathy Temple is located at
Pudunagaram, a lovely countryside village in
Palakkad District of
Kerala. Pudunagaram is 15 km south of
Palakkad.
The chief deity here is Athiyankad Bhagavathy, the image representing Kodungallur Bhagavathy. There is an idol of Lord Vighneswara (Lord Ganesh) immersed in water, placed along side the goddess. Besides, a Samadhi (Tombstone) of three ancestors, about 300 years old, adds to the prestige of this sacred place.
The Annual Puja ceremonies of the temple usually fall on the 10th Dhanu (December). A large number of devotees from far-off places gather here on this holy occasion.
Pudunagaram Railway Station, the nearest railhead, is on the Palakkad-Pollachi section of the Southern Railways.
