Athinhal Makham Urs




Athinhal Makham Urs is an annual nercha festival celebrated in memory of Assayid Samargandhi Waliullah, a well-known Islamic propagator. It takes place at Chithari, a coastal village in Kasargod District.

A grand feast is held on the last day of the Urs. Thousands of people from Muslim and Hindu communities throng here to join this nercha festival and pay rich tribute to Baba.

Chithari is a mere 4 km from Kanhangad and 5 km from the Bekal Fort.
