Asthi Dhatu or bone tissue is the hardest
Dhatu in the body, which is white in color and porous. There are five types of Asthis namely Kapala (flat bones), Nalaka (long bones), Valaya (curved bones), Ruchaka (teeth), and Taruna (young bones).
They are formed from the elements of solid and air, where air being the dominant in the central marrow cavity. Asthi supports the body, maintains bone marrow, and protect internal organs like brain, lungs and spinal cord. Movements of Mamsa are exercised with the help of Asthi. It also constitutes the joints. The Malas or waste products are hair and nails.
