Assam Agricultural University is a State University located in
Jorhat with its headquarters at Borbheta.
Established in 1969, this university engages in research and extension education in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. It offers graduate, postgraduate and PhD programs in the disciplines of agriculture, veterinary science, home science and fisheries science. There are two Directorates of Research, namely, Directorate of Research (Agriculture) and Directorate of Research (Veterinary), with their headquarters at Jorhat and Khanapara respectively.
