Arunachala Hill is a sacred hill in
Thiruvannamalai District,
Tamil Nadu. It is about 160 km south-west of
Chennai.
Arunachala Hill is an ideal spot for meditators. Going round the hill is an important spiritual exercise done here. It is performed bare footed after having a bath. Various other spiritual activities are also conducted. Numerous devotees visit the hill every year. There are several temples, shrines, thirthams (tanks) and
shivlings near the hill.
