Arulmigu Velayutha Swamy Temple is located at
Thindal in
Erode District of
Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to
Lord Muruga. There are separate abodes for
Lord Ganesh and Idumban (disciple of Lord Muruga) inside the temple complex.
It is believed that the prosperity of Erode is because of the lord in this temple, as the lord faces in the direction of the town. Pujas such as Kaalaisanthi, Uchikala and Sayaraksha are performed regularly. Devotees visit the temple in large number on Tamil New Year day, Karthigai Deepam, Thai Poosam, Panguni Uttram and Skanda Shashti.
The temple is open on all days from 06:00 to 12:30 hrs and from 16:00 to 20:30 hrs.
