Arohor Dal
Arohor Dal (Toor Dal) is an easy-to-cook dish of the Bengalis. The cooked yellow lentils or pigeon peas is mixed with coriander, ginger pastes, slit green chillies, salt and sugar. Panch phoron (the five spices of cumin, nigella, fenugreek, aniseed and mustard seed typical of Bengali preparations) is mixed with ghee before serving. Arohor Dal is a good combination with hot rice.
