Arjunwad, named after a Maratha officer Arjuna, is a village in
Belgaum District of
Karnataka. Excavations have revealed inscription slabs dated to 1260 of Yadava Kannara. Scholars give much importance attached to these records because there is a mention of Basava, the protagonist of Veerashaivism.
The famous Arjunwad inscription and other boundary stones with writings such as Basavanakai have been exhibited at Karnataka University Campus, Dharwad.
