Aretippur Jain Temple

Built in 1117, Aretippur Jain Temple is a ruined Jain temple located at Aretippur in Mandya District of Karnataka. The temple enshrines the idol of Bhagwan Bahubali in the kayotsarga position. Flanked by yakshas, this 10 ft tall and 3 ft wide idol is made of single black granite. This statue is believed to be older than the famous Gommateshwara statue in Sravanabelagola.

The temple is surrounded by two hills located opposite to each other with a pond between them. Aretippur can be approached from Maddur and Mandya.
