Ardh Kuwari is located on the way to
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine from
Katra. It is about 5 km from
Charan Paduka Temple and is a major halting point for the pilgrims heading to Vaishno Devi Temple.
Garbha Joon, a 15-foot-long cave, associated with Vaishno Devi legend is located here. Legend has it that the goddess hid herself for nine months from Bhairon here and showed herself to a saint. The cave is very narrow and one has to almost crawl all the way through it.
