Aranadan is a
Dravidian tribal community found in the states of
Tamil Nadu and
Karnataka. A majority of this scheduled tribe are also settled down in
Kozhikode District and
Palakkad District, of
Kerala. They are also known by two different names - Arnatas and Eranadans.
Apart from the Malayalam, Aranadans speak a distinctive language known as Aranatan. They observe the traditions of Hindus. Aranadans are manual labors and some times they engage in the raising of livestock.
