Anantheshwara Temple is located at
Udupi in
Udupi District. Dedicated to
Lord Shiva, It is the place of origin of the
Shaivites.
The temple has close connection with Madhvacharya, who is said to have narrated the Aitareya Upanishad here.
The famous Chandramauleshwara temple is in front of this temple.
