Amtala




Amtala is in the Murshidabad District of West Bengal, about 5 km north of Nawada. Hariharpara is approximately 16 km to its north. Beldanga, Bhabta and Rejinagar are the neighboring towns. Jalangi River flows through its eastern side. A government sponsored institute, affiliated to the University of Calcutta, named Jatindra-Rajendra Mahavidyalaya is situated here. The tomb of Mirmadan, the faithful general of Siraj-Ud-Daulah, Radha Gopinatha Temple, Hazarduari Palace, Katra Mosque, Moti Jheel and Nawajesh Muhammad's Mosque are the interesting spots around Amtala. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport and Beldanga Railway Station serve Amtala.
