Lying on the outskirts of Manamelkudi, Ammapattinam is a coastal town in Pudukkottai District, Tamil Nadu. Jagadapatnam and Kottaippattanam lies to the south and Kattumavadi to the north. Pudukkottai is around 65 km north-west.
Avadayar Koil (one of the best architectural marvels in South India) and the ancient fort at Aranthangi are worth visiting. The picnic spot of Thirumayam with worthy temples and a fort is accessible from Ammapattinam.
