Amaleesvarar Temple is an ancient shrine situated at Gopurapatti, in
Tiruchirapalli District,
Tamil Nadu. The temple lies in a picturesque locale amid cast agricultural field.
Amaleesvarar Temple dating back to early Chola period was scientifically renovated and restored to its barest original form from ruins. The idol enshrined in the temple is that of Thiru Amaleesvaram Udaiya Mahadevar – it can be known from the inscriptions found in the temple.
