Affiliated to the World Blind Union, the All India Confederation of the Blind is a social service organization that is engaged in education, training, social and economic rehabilitation of the visually handicapped persons in the country. It offers training in Hindi and English stenography and computer and adjustment training for newly blinded persons. The organization has a computerized Braille production unit, recording studio, community based rehabilitation programs, placement services, special school for blind children, a low vision unit, a resource center for the blind and hostel for college going blind girls. All India Confederation of the Blind gives financial aids for elderly blind persons. The confederation has 20 branches in various parts of the country.
