Established in 1952, Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology is located in the northern part of
Karaikudi. It offers courses in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Civil Engineering and Computer Science. Post-graduate courses include M.E. Optical Communication, M.E. Computer Aided Design, M.E. Manufacturing Engineering, M.E. Structural Engineering, M.E. Environmental Engineering, M.E. Power Electronics and Drives and M.C.A. Facilities include hostel, library, post office, bank, outdoor games and indoor games, students co-operative store, medical facilities and the college auditorium.
