Located in
Ajmer, Akbari Masjid was built in 1576 by the Mughal Emperor
Akbar. The mosque was constructed in white marble following the Timurid pattern with colored stone bands forming a frame around arches. The eastern exterior is made of white marble carved with geometric patterns.
The high arched gateway of the masjid leads to the prayer hall. The left of its courtyard has an assembly hall where the poor meet to offer prayers.
