Akarkara

Akarkara (Spilanthes acmella) is an annual herb found throughout India. It belongs to the family Compositae. The herb is found widely in the natural forests of Chhattisgarh. It is also grown as a crop.

The whole herb excluding root is taken to prepare a curry, known as Akarkara ke Sag. This curry is very useful in urinary system related troubles. Akarkara is also an accepted herbal medicine for dental troubles, scurvy, asthma and rheumatism.
