Agharkar Museum is situated within the sprawling grounds of
Allahabad University in
Allahabad,
Uttar Pradesh. Allahabad is about 135 km west of
Varanasi.
The museum has an assortment of specimens relating to archaeology, anthropology, botany, zoology and geology. Collections include samples of fossil and living plants, ancient life forms and maps depicting the distribution and origin of plants.
Entry to the museum is free. Photography is not allowed. The museum is open on all days except Sundays and university holidays.
